Assistant Golf Coach (Men/Women)

About the role

The Assistant Golf Coach will support the Head Golf Coach in managing both the men’s and women’s golf programs at Prairie View A&M University. This staff position works directly with student‑athletes to develop their skills, academic progress, and competitive success.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising all practices, matches, and team travel for both men’s and women’s golf.
• Help manage budget items such as equipment, uniforms, and travel logistics, including recruitment visits.
• Support recruiting and scouting efforts in compliance with NCAA and SWAC regulations.
• Coordinate scheduling of nationally competitive opponents alongside the Head Coach.
• Oversee study‑hall requirements during away games and monitor academic progress with the athletics academic office.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and collaborate with the compliance office.
• Participate in community fundraising, public relations, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three years of related experience in collegiate golf coaching or administration.
• Demonstrated ability to work with student‑athletes and adhere to NCAA regulations.
