Assistant Field Operator

About the role

ConeTec is looking for an Assistant Field Operator to support field crews in geo‑environmental and geotechnical investigations. You will work side‑by‑side with Field Operators and Engineers, gaining hands‑on experience with drilling rigs, sampling equipment and geophysical instruments in a variety of field conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and assist in operating drilling rigs, sampling systems, geophysical instruments and in‑situ testing equipment following company procedures.
• Help mobilise and demobilise equipment in remote or hard‑to‑access locations.
• Perform routine maintenance on all equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Report any incidents, safety infractions or near‑misses to the Project Manager and HSE Officer.
• Communicate equipment issues or field observations to the Supervisor or Project Manager.
• Identify and suggest improvements to operating procedures.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Valid driver’s licence (minimum Class 5; Class 1 preferred) with a clean driving record.
• Completion of first‑aid training and H2S awareness or equivalent industry safety courses.
