Assistant Director of UREC Sports

About the role

The University of Arkansas seeks an Assistant Director to lead the UREC Sports program, supporting student engagement and campus recreation. This full‑time position reports to the Director of UREC and works closely with faculty, staff, and student leaders to deliver high‑quality sports experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of UREC Sports, including scheduling, facility management, and program delivery.
• Develop and implement sport‑related events, tournaments, and community outreach initiatives.
• Manage budgets, procurement, and resource allocation for sports activities.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate student employees and part‑time staff.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, safety standards, and NCAA regulations.
• Collaborate with academic departments to integrate sports programs into curricular and extracurricular offerings.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Experience in sports program administration, recreation management, or related fields.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
