About the role
The Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional Financial Aid serves as the primary contact for graduate programs across multiple colleges at the University of Miami. This role provides expert guidance on financial aid matters and supports students directly in the Canes Central One Stop Shop Office.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate awarding of financial aid for all graduate and law school programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
- Review and analyze award reports, process student applications for federal grants, loans, and work‑study, and assess eligibility.
- Verify student documentation, resolve discrepancies, and utilize federal databases for secondary verification when required.
- Determine and package financial aid awards based on need, eligibility, and available funding, including processing adjustments and external scholarships.
- Serve as a liaison with students, parents, and stakeholders, providing in‑person, email, and telephone support, and representing the office within assigned colleges.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
- Experience reviewing and processing financial aid applications and award packages.
- Ability to verify documentation, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate award disbursement.
