Assistant Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life

About the role

The Assistant Director supports the Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life in creating a safe, healthy, and engaging Greek‑letter experience for over 3,750 students at Northeastern University. This full‑time position works within the Center for Student Involvement and collaborates with multiple governing councils and campus partners.

Key responsibilities

• Review and advise on new‑member education, membership intake plans, and event logistics to ensure safety and compliance.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate the Fraternity and Sorority Life Specialist and student employees.
• Develop and deliver educational programs such as FSL Discovery, RISE, and leadership retreats.
• Lead the student organization accountability committee and manage hazing‑prevention policy, investigations, and sanctions.
• Oversee the bi‑weekly FSL newsletter, social media, and website to align with the marketing strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–3 years of full‑time experience in fraternity/sorority advising, health promotion, student conduct, or related fields.
• Awareness of national trends affecting Greek life and ability to apply best practices.
• Strong problem‑solving, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, global university environment.
