Assistant Community Manager – The Island Residences

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager will support the Community Manager at The Island Residences, a property within the Carlson Center portfolio. Based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, this full‑time position focuses on the financial and operational administration of the community, ensuring accurate accounting and smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent, fees and other resident payments.
• Prepare daily bank deposits, reconcile bank accounts and perform account dispositions.
• Process invoices, issue payments and maintain vendor records.
• Assist in month‑end close, generate financial reports and support budgeting activities.
• Maintain accurate records in the property management software, tracking all financial transactions.
• Collaborate with the Community Manager to address resident inquiries and operational issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with residents, vendors and internal teams.

Required skills

• Basic accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.
• Experience using property management or accounting software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
