Assistant Clinical Professor, Generalist

About the role

The College of Education and Human Development seeks a Clinical Assistant Professor, Generalist to join the Curriculum Instruction and Learning Sciences department for a 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment beginning Fall 2027. The role focuses on preparing future educators and advancing high‑quality early childhood practice through teaching, mentorship, and field‑based supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses in early childhood, elementary, and special education programs.
• Provide mentorship, advising, and field‑based supervision for preservice teachers.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, families, and community organizations.
• Contribute to program development, service activities, and departmental initiatives.

Required profile

• Earned Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in a specific field.
• Strong record of active teaching excellence and effective leadership.
• Familiarity with educator certification standards and experience building school‑university partnerships.
• Experience supervising and advising students.
