Assistant Accounting Manager

About the role

The Assistant Accounting Manager will lead the production accounting team in our Cincinnati area office, driving process improvements and ensuring accurate month‑end and annual financial statements for a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily production accounting transactions and coordinate with manufacturing plants to guarantee data accuracy.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes for GL accounts (Sales, COGS, AR, AP).
• Support treasury functions, including cash application, dispute management, and document approvals.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages for the parent company and maintain J‑SOX documentation.
• Assist with tax preparation, filings, and audit activities (internal, external, J‑SOX).
• Develop and train staff, lead KPI initiatives, and document operational processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of staff accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or lead experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Manufacturing/production accounting background.
• Experience with auditing and state/federal tax compliance.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Power BI for financial reporting.
• Oracle (or similar financial reporting tools).
