Assembly Technician

About the role

Ready is building custom communication pods called Portals for libraries and public spaces. As an Assembly Technician you will work across the full build cycle, from receiving components to final shipment, ensuring high‑quality, reliable units for underserved communities.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and perform quality control on incoming shipments and components.
• Assemble enclosure structures, mechanical parts, and install AV equipment such as screens, cameras, and speakers.
• Measure, drill, cut, and modify parts for custom fitment, apply PDLC privacy film and other finishing elements.
• Perform wiring, connector installation, cable terminations, and test assemblies for system readiness.
• Package and crate finished units safely for transport while maintaining organized workspaces and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in AV installation, electromechanical assembly, hardware build, or similar hands‑on technical work.
• Strong attention to detail, pride in clean, precise work, and ability to follow documented build procedures.
• Comfort working in a production‑paced environment with a builder mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, drills, and cutting equipment.
• Familiarity with wiring connectors, cable routing, and terminations.
• Ability to perform incoming quality control and identify defects.
