Assembly Specialist

About the role

The Assembly Specialist at Custom Interface follows work instructions and reads schematic drawings to build and test cable assemblies and wire harnesses in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Check parts and address discrepancies in the assembly work kit.
• Identify needed tools and check them out from the tooling department, returning them after use.
• Set up and operate crimping, splicing, and wire cut/strip machines.
• Perform or receive in‑process quality inspections and maintain required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, employee policies, and on‑time completion of reports.

Required profile

• Ability to read schematic drawings accurately and interpret critical specifications.
• Basic math skills to convert fractions to decimals in both metric and U.S. standard scales.
• Proficient reading and writing in English to accomplish tasks.
• Vision corrected to 20/20 and ability to differentiate colors.
• Physical ability to work 8–10 hours per day in standing or sitting positions with good eye‑hand coordination.

Required skills

• Operation of hand, pneumatic and electrical power tools for component assembly.
• Setup and operation of crimping, splicing, and wire cut/strip machines.
• Certification in IPC‑620 and IPC‑610 (or ability to obtain).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
