Art Therapist – Cleveland Clinic Main Campus

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a dedicated Art Therapist to join the Arts and Medicine team on the Main Campus. The role involves using art media and creative processes to support patients with social, psychological and physical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Use art media, images and the creative process to assist patients with social, psychological and physical difficulties.
• Provide individual art therapy sessions to patients across various units on the main campus hospital.
• Evaluate patients' treatment needs, abilities and resources.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients, staff and the hospital while respecting patients' rights and dignity.
• Complete routine paperwork within prescribed time frames and accurately document observations.
• Attend and participate in plan‑of‑care team meetings concerning patients and families.
• Adhere to program expectations to meet patients' treatment needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Master's Degree in Art Therapy from an AATA‑accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) through the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
• Registered Art Therapist with Board Certification (ATR‑BC); must be obtained within the first 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; must be obtained within the first 90 days of hire.
• De‑escalation training (WELLE certification); must be obtained within the first 90 days of hire.
• Minimum one year of experience in art therapy services in an inpatient hospital setting (including practicum).
