Armed Security Officer - Patrol Driver

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer who also drives a patrol vehicle in Tucson, Arizona. The role serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, and involves routine vehicle and foot patrols, a visible presence to deter incidents, and responding to security concerns. The schedule is Friday and Saturday evenings, 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff and contractors by carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Carry out regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and spot potential concerns.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, disturbances and critical situations, asking for additional assistance when needed.
• Maintain authorized firearms and related equipment in line with laws, licensing requirements, company policies and site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations and interactions accurately in required reports and logs.

Required profile

• At least two years of law enforcement, military police or corrections experience.
• Armed guard card or license, and a valid driver's license; a driver's license is required only for driving positions.
• Able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting and to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• At least 21 years old for armed roles; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing requirements may apply before employment.
