Armed Patrol Driver - Full Time

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Armed Patrol Driver in San Jose, California. The officer supports a government transportation location by conducting routine patrols, keeping a visible presence to deter security incidents, responding to situations and providing professional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, contractors and visitors by carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response at public transportation facilities and transit locations.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, suspicious activity, medical emergencies, service disruptions and critical situations, following post orders and reporting protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, vehicle yards and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points, pedestrian and vehicle traffic and assigned areas for unauthorized entry, prohibited items or unusual conditions, documenting observations and completing required reports.
• Maintain the qualifications needed for armed assignments and handle all assigned equipment in line with laws, company policies and site procedures.

Required profile

• At least one year of armed security, law enforcement or military experience.
• An armed guard card or license and a 40 caliber endorsement.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license (required for driving positions only).
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
