Architectural Designer I – Chicago

About the role

Perkins Eastman is seeking a creative Architectural Designer I to join its Chicago studio. You will contribute to moderate‑size projects, turning innovative concepts into detailed drawings, layouts, and visual presentations while collaborating with senior architects and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop bold architectural concepts.
• Create schematic proposals, plans, and 3D design models using Revit or comparable digital tools.
• Produce hand sketches, diagrams, and iterative models to explore design solutions.
• Develop architectural drawings, plans, and layouts, and conduct planning and occupancy studies.
• Prepare project specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Participate in design reviews, client presentations, and refine designs based on feedback.

Required profile

• Passionate about innovative architectural solutions and translating ideas into clear documentation.
• Strong conceptual and technical design abilities with critical thinking skills.
• Eager to grow, experiment with new ideas, and contribute to high‑quality outcomes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit (or similar BIM software).
