Architect I

About the role

Fluor is seeking an Architect I to support the Architectural Area Lead on assigned projects. The role involves applying standard architectural techniques, developing cost‑effective solutions, and ensuring project documentation meets quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide essential administrative processes and intermediate technical knowledge.
• Support the Architectural Area Lead in evaluating and applying architectural techniques to moderately difficult assignments.
• Develop and review Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other baseline project documents.
• Create estimates, schedules, progress reports, and workforce forecasts.
• Track material quantities, perform analysis, and provide forecasts.
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental considerations into designs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Accredited professional architectural degree meeting country requirements.
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience.
• Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Technical knowledge necessary to complete architectural tasks.
• Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under time constraints.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards.
• Understanding of commercial availability and cost of materials, means and methods of construction.
• Practical field experience.
• Professional architectural registration (where applicable).
• Intermediate computer skills: word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs.
• Use of discipline‑specific architectural software (may be required).
