APRN / PA - Oncology ($15k Sign-On Bonus)

About the role

Aoncology is hiring an APRN or PA for its Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders. The position assists the physician in the care and teaching of patients, with a pay range of $92,500 to $152,875 and a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The role is on-site, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with less than 25% travel and availability for occasional overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and psychosocial status through interviews, health history, physical exam and diagnostic studies.
• Write prescriptions for medications and blood products according to written practice protocols.
• Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials and interpret study results.
• Administer treatments, obtain specimens and relay patient-care information to the collaborating physician.
• Dictate or write patient history, admission, progress and discharge notes, and follow-up letters to referring physicians.
• Triage patients, document care accurately and timely, and provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, assist in crisis situations and train new employees.
• Promote cancer treatment to the public and comply with patient-privacy laws and company policies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program with a Master's degree.
• APRN or PA license in the appropriate state and prescriptive privileges (or eligible to apply).
• Current ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P) certification and current BLS.
• At least 5 years of experience as an APRN or PA, specifically in oncology.
• Willingness to work at any company location and to work overtime when given sufficient notice.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making and time management.
• Good command of English; second language is an asset.
