API Developer (Microservices, Spring Boot)

About the role

Kforce is seeking an experienced API Developer for a client in Irving, TX. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining high‑quality backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot within a fast‑paced, project‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy microservices with Spring Boot, REST, gRPC, and GraphQL.
• Collaborate with product owners, UI/UX teams, and offshore developers to clarify requirements and ensure smooth releases.
• Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and produce documentation for each service.
• Monitor and resolve bugs, manage environment issues across consumer, banker, and branch channels.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including on‑shore refinement calls and sprint planning.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and share knowledge across the organization.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience designing and developing large, complex systems.
• Strong object‑oriented design skills with deep expertise in Java.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with at least 5 years leading technical teams.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture.
• Streaming technologies: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• API technologies: REST, gRPC, GraphQL, Swagger.
• Development tools: IntelliJ/Eclipse, Postman, Git, Cucumber.
• Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock.
• DevOps concepts: containers, CI/CD, cloud automation, security scanning (Sonar, Fortify, WebInspect).
• Familiarity with PCF, JSON, YAML, and Agile methodologies.
