Analyst, Category Experience

About the role

The Analyst, Category Experience works closely with their leadership team to understand merchandising strategies and objectives. They use customer information and behavior, as well as competitive benchmarking, to find ways to improve the customer research and shopping experience, which should raise customer and associate satisfaction, traffic, sales and conversion. The role sits within the Store Support Center and reports to a Manager or Senior Manager, Category Experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ad hoc reporting based on business needs and extract the right data from relevant systems (10%).
• Analyze external data, internal research, site behaviors and post-transaction data to spot the biggest opportunities to improve the customer experience across categories (40%).
• Execute system changes for promotional activity (25%).
• Make taxonomy changes in the system needed to support new onboarding and business changes (25%).

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job; no additional education or experience required.
• Typically requires overnight travel of less than 10% of the time; mostly sits in a comfortable indoor setting, with occasional need to move or lift light items.

Required skills

• Preferred: strong numeric and advanced analytics aptitude.
• Preferred: basic technical aptitude with web-based tools and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Preferred: ability to understand and influence cross-functional inputs to Merchandising, and to work comfortably in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: strong communication, problem-solving and attention to detail.
