AmeriCorps Student Support Coach – Part‑Time

About the role

The AmeriCorps Student Support Coach works directly with K‑12 students and their families on school campuses across South Carolina, providing one‑on‑one tutoring and small‑group support to help remove barriers to educational success.

Key responsibilities

• Provide weekly tutoring through 1:1 meetings or small‑group facilitation, documenting services and data entry.
• Meet a target of 900 service hours over an 11‑month term, averaging about 20 hours per week.
• Collaborate with the School Site Coordinator, teachers, staff, community partners, and families to create a student‑centered support network.
• Participate in weekly supervision with the AmeriCorps Program Manager and attend required trainings.
• Support school‑wide initiatives to improve climate and address risk factors, and assist with summer enrichment activities.

• Passion for working with K‑12 students and commitment to educational equity.
• Ability to build healthy, appropriate relationships with diverse individuals while maintaining confidentiality.
• Proactive, professional attitude with strong communication skills.
• Comfortable using technology for documentation and program requirements.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a diverse service environment.

What we offer

• Annual living allowance of up to $12,000 (approximately $545.45 paid bi‑monthly).
• Education award of up to $3,697.50 upon successful completion of 900 service hours.
