American Girl Party Planner (Regular Full-Time)

About the role

American Girl, a premium brand for girls and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mattel, is looking for a Party Planner for its Dallas restaurant team. The role delivers a complete party experience alongside the cafe, working one-on-one with guests to create a memorable event through strong communication and organisation according to American Girl specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely steps of party execution and positive feedback on customer comment cards, from pre-event communication to serving the party throughout the event.
• Prepare desserts and to-go transactions, deliver and process checks, bus and reset tables, do daily clean-up and restock supplies.
• Meet sales goals and budgetary guidelines, and work with external vendors to place product orders on time.
• Resolve customer service issues and requests graciously, and run events to American Girl standards, including games, crafts, hair styling and doll skin care.
• Maintain ongoing party communication with staff, management and the Retail Sales and Services department.
• Follow local and state health and sanitation laws and food and workplace safety guidelines.
• Assign and complete daily tasks for front-of-house and back-of-house areas, and use the InfoGenesis system correctly.
• Train and assist teammates and help out in other parts of the restaurant when needed.

Required profile

• High school degree or equivalent; undergraduate education preferred.
• At least 6 months of work experience in customer relations, parties or events; 1-2 years in a high-volume, fine-casual restaurant preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Current ServeSafe certification preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays, and to stand and walk in a loud environment.
• Physical demands include lifting 30-50 pounds and carrying full trays and bus tubs up to 30 pounds.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of the InfoGenesis system.

The pay range is $16-$18.75 per hour, depending on location, skills and experience. Applicants who do not meet every requirement are encouraged to apply.
