ALS Technical Partner – Part‑Time Night Shift

About the role

The ALS Technical Partner (Paramedic) works night shifts in the Emergency Department of Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Hellertown, providing advanced life‑support care under the supervision of ED providers and nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in individualized patient care plans and implement orders promptly.
• Perform clinical tasks and procedures within EMT‑P scope, including assisting with examinations, treatments, and emergency response teams (RRTs, code blues, trauma activations).
• Assist registered nurses with transport of critically ill patients, monitoring respiratory status, endotracheal tube position, oxygenation, and ventilation.
• Serve as liaison for EMS agencies, maintain and restock EMS equipment, and support decontamination or mass‑casualty events.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and valid Pennsylvania EMT‑P certification (or National Registry).
• Ability to assess acute and chronic patients of all ages and document care accurately.
• Knowledge of infection‑control procedures, safety precautions, and ability to lift/carry 40‑50 lb loads.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
• EMT‑P (Paramedic) certification – State of Pennsylvania or National Registry.
