Airport Firefighter – Crash Fire Tender & Ladder

About the role

The Airport Firefighter ensures rapid deployment of Crash Fire Tenders (CFT) and Turn Table Ladders (TTL) during emergencies at IGI Airport. The role combines fire suppression, rescue, first‑aid provision and equipment management to meet DGCA and DAEP safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive CFT and TTL to incident sites within DGCA‑mandated response times and operate them for fire suppression and rescue.
• Provide medical first aid to victims during emergencies.
• Perform autonomous maintenance, monthly inspections and operational testing of fire appliances.
• Manage ARFF inventory, track stock of extinguishing media and firefighting equipment, and oversee disposal timelines.
• Handle clerical duties for the ARFF office, including mail, meeting schedules and equipment upkeep.
• Develop junior firefighters for lead roles and act as Crew Commander when required.

Required profile

• 10+2 education, preferably with a science background.
• Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) driving licence.
• Qualified in medical first aid.
• Authorized to drive CFT and TTL.
• Good communication skills and basic knowledge of MS Office.
