Aircraft Dispatcher – TFS Dispatcher IV

About the role

The TFS Dispatcher IV will dispatch resources and act as the communication link for incidents and aviation management within the Texas A&M Forest Service. This position supports wildfire response and other aviation activities statewide.

Key responsibilities

• Dispatch and monitor resources to wildfires and other incidents, maintaining accurate availability records.
• Coordinate resource ordering, logistical support, and provide situational awareness to field personnel and supervisors.
• Maintain dispatch logs, process FAMIS transactions, mileage reports, travel vouchers, and manage TFS credit cards and equipment.
• Participate in training, support agency-wide aviation operations, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; ten years of dispatch and office administration experience.
• NWCG Aircraft Dispatcher qualification and familiarity with state radio/dispatch protocols.
• Ability to work rotating 10‑hour shifts, including holidays, weekends, and on‑call after‑hours duties.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PC‑based dispatch software and reporting tools.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
