AI Solutions Engineer - Experienced

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise‑scale AI/ML systems using Generative AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI frameworks. You will work within the Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations portfolio to deliver secure, scalable AI‑powered services that support critical business functions across the Federal Reserve System.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, logical and physical designs for AI/ML solutions on AWS, using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement GenAI, RDS, and multi‑agent pipelines with AWS Bedrock, vector databases and related services.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for automated testing, deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
• Create automation scripts in Python or Bash to streamline model deployment, data pipelines and operational processes.
• Resolve complex AI infrastructure issues, perform root‑cause analysis and support system reliability.
• Build internal tools and front‑end interfaces with React, and develop APIs for AI solution orchestration.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience building GenAI, RAG or Agentic AI solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Bedrock and core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, RDS, Systems Manager).
• Strong programming skills in Python and Bash for automation and API development.
• Proficiency with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
