AI Engineer Consultant (Human Capital)

About the role

Deloitte's Human Capital team is looking for an AI Engineer Consultant to design, build, and operate the data, feature, and GenAI foundations that power AI‑driven HR products and analytics. You will work closely with an AI Data Engineer and a Lead AI Solutions Architect, as well as product, data‑science, security, and platform teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Lead AI Solutions Architect and AI Data Engineer to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable AI services, APIs, pipelines, and container/serverless solutions.
• Develop and operationalize LLM‑enabled products (copilots, knowledge assistants, summarization, policy Q&A) using Claude, GPT/Codex, and Gemini models.
• Implement retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and document‑intelligence patterns, including ingestion, chunking, embeddings, and vector/hybrid search.
• Deliver governed datasets and feature pipelines for training and real‑time inference, ensuring consistency, caching, backfills, and latency SLOs.
• Apply trust, safety, and governance controls such as PII handling, prompt‑injection defenses, content filtering, and policy‑based access.
• Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD, testing, versioning, monitoring, incident response, and cost/performance optimization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science).
• Hands‑on, delivery‑oriented mindset with experience shipping production pipelines and services.

Required skills

• Experience with LLM models (Claude, GPT/Codex, Gemini).
• API development and container/serverless deployment.
• Retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and vector/hybrid search techniques.
• CI/CD pipeline creation, testing, and monitoring/observability.
• Cost and performance optimization, including query tuning and token telemetry.
• Implementation of security, governance, and trust controls.
