AI Engineer, AVP

About the role

Barclays Services LLC is hiring several AI Engineer, Assistant Vice President positions in Henderson, Nevada, within its Data & Analytics area. The role uses data analytics and machine learning to turn the bank's data into insights that support strategic decisions, improve operations and drive innovation. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI and GenAI applications, including RAG, conversational AI, agentic workflows and intelligent automation.
• Design scalable backend services, APIs and integrations between AI models and enterprise data platforms.
• Architect and run cloud-native AI workloads on containerized platforms such as Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, model deployment frameworks, monitoring and telemetry.
• Design secure networking, including VPCs, private connectivity, load balancing, API gateways, DNS and network security.
• Optimize performance, scalability, availability and cost across compute, storage and networking.
• Implement MLOps/LLMOps practices: model versioning, automated testing, deployment, observability, rollback and lifecycle management.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deploy production-ready AI while meeting governance, security and audit requirements.
• Data side: collect and clean data, build data pipelines, and design and run statistical and machine learning and predictive models.

Required profile

• Assistant Vice President level: advise decision makers, contribute to policy and lead a team or complex assignments.
• Leadership expectations: listen, energise, align and develop others, or guide collaborative work and consult on complex issues.
• Manage risk, strengthen controls and communicate complex information to stakeholders.
• Legal right to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not offered.

What we offer

• Base salary of $165,755 to $175,000 per year.
• Eligibility for incentives under the Barclays Employee Referral Program.
