AI and Automation Engineer - Business Systems
cerebras · Sunnyvale
Job description
About the role
Cerebras Systems builds the world's largest AI chip and works with model labs, enterprises and AI-native startups. The AI and Automation Engineer is a hands-on member of the Business Intelligence and Systems team, responsible for designing, building and operating secure AI solutions and enterprise automations for Finance, accounting, supply chain and other business systems. The role combines solution architecture with direct engineering, production support and Scrum and Agile delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy and support production AI agents, orchestration services, enterprise applications and reusable platform components, including reusable patterns for agents, tools, APIs, prompts and retrieval workflows.
- Build secure integrations with enterprise platforms starting with NetSuite, covering data, procurement, contracts, HR and CRM, using APIs, MCP, webhooks, event-driven services, SFTP and integration platforms.
- Own operational requirements such as credential and key rotation, access reviews, patching, monitoring, incident response and recovery.
- Evaluate models, agent frameworks and connectors through proofs of concept, and build evaluation datasets, grading methods, release thresholds and monitoring.
- Diagnose production failures and improve code, prompts, data, controls and operating procedures.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Operations, IT and Security to deliver solutions for close and reporting, forecasting, procurement, billing and compliance monitoring, with adoption plans and feedback loops.
- Deliver work through Scrum: backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives, turning business needs into epics, user stories and sequenced releases.
- Translate Security, Privacy, SOX and SSDLC requirements into architecture, application controls and procedures, including least privilege, segregation of duties, logging, change control and reconciliation of financial data.
Required profile
- 8+ years of experience in software, platform, integration, solution engineering or enterprise applications, with hands-on production ownership.
- Experience building production AI systems with agents, tool use, retrieval, structured outputs, evaluations and monitoring.
- Working knowledge of enterprise finance processes such as close, reporting, procure to pay, order to cash and forecasting.
- Scrum or Agile experience and working knowledge of version control, peer review, CI/CD and observability.
- Nice to have: experience with ERP, CRM or workflow platforms, cloud and serverless architectures, SOX controls, and semiconductor or manufacturing environments.
Required skills
- Strong Python and TypeScript or JavaScript, with API and enterprise application development.
- LLM platforms and agent frameworks such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
- MCP or comparable tool protocols, enterprise authentication and permission-aware access.
