Afternoon Drive Host - 106.1 KISS-FM Dallas

About the role

iHeartMedia Markets is hiring an Afternoon Drive Host for 106.1 KISS-FM (KHKS), one of America's most iconic CHR brands, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The station is looking for a dynamic, personality-driven talent who can entertain, connect and create compelling content across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Perform news, talk, music, comedic or other format shows for broadcast entertainment
• Interview guests, moderate debates, converse with callers and host live events
• Prepare for each air shift independently, writing, producing, interviewing, taping or broadcasting on-air material
• Air logged commercials, promotions and other programming essential to the station's operation
• Maintain a website personality page and take part in station programming, promotions and sales meetings
• Make approved appearances at station events and act as an ambassador for the station in public
• Assist with voice-over and production of paid and non-paid spots, and research topics so commentary is spontaneous
• Edit content with digital audio software and prepare written, visual and video content for websites, blogs and social media
• Check studio equipment, handle emergency inserts and stay on call for breaking news and emergencies

Required profile

• At least 3 years of on-air radio experience
• 4-year college degree, preferably in Communications or Broadcast Journalism
• Lead promotion member for The Beat
• Strong knowledge of FCC rules and regulations
• Up-to-date on local and national trends and able to adapt to schedule changes in a fast-paced environment
• Pleasant, charismatic voice with excellent pronunciation and communication skills
• Team player who can stay calm under pressure; other languages such as Spanish may be required

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social networking
• Familiarity with NexGen, Vox Pro and Pro Tools
• Demonstrated creativity, good grammar and editing skills
