After School Educator – Part-Time

About the role

Apollo After School is seeking enthusiastic educators to join its after‑school care and enrichment programs in Weehawken, New Jersey for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role involves supervising children aged 4‑10 after school hours, providing a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a high‑quality learning environment and manage after‑school activities.
• Assist in implementing classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans as needed.
• Ensure the safety and security of enrolled children.
• Follow the designated schedule and maintain a routine for students.
• Attract and retain students through enthusiasm, teaching skills, and patience.
• Assist children with homework completion.

Required profile

• Ability to command respect and cooperation in an elementary classroom.
• Confidence to run a classroom independently.
• Team player who can collaborate with peers.
• Problem‑solving skills for issues related to elementary‑aged children.
• Ability to create and maintain a fun, caring educational environment.
• Minimum one year experience working with school‑age youth (4‑10) in a school or after‑school setting.
• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
