Affordable Housing Specialist

About the role

The Affordable Housing Specialist ensures strict compliance with state and local affordable housing regulations across multiple properties. This position works closely with community managers, government agencies, and third‑party reviewers to maintain program integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Review, monitor, and report property compliance with all affordable housing program regulations.
• Prepare and distribute compliance reports to local governmental agencies and provide training to staff.
• Maintain property waitlists, manage applicant correspondence, and resolve eligibility discrepancies.
• Conduct property file audits, identify non‑compliance, and communicate corrective actions.
• Monitor income limits, utility allowances, and assist with rent calculations and household certifications.

Required profile

• Experience processing affordable housing files, including calculations and reviews.
• Ability to work with community managers and assist with compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with local and state housing program regulations (e.g., TCAC, HUD).
