Aerospace Engineer - Unmanned Aerial Systems

About the role

CACI is looking for an experienced aerospace engineer to support design, analysis and integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The position is senior level and involves mentoring less experienced engineers and advising on multiple projects. It is a full-time, regular position based in Aberdeen Proving Ground, with up to 10% travel within the continental US.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and modify CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
• Perform CFD and flow analysis to support aerodynamic design
• Manage design files and workflows
• Support aerodynamic design, analysis and testing of UAS components and systems
• Assist in creating documentation, manuals and technical materials
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for system-level integration
• Take part in planning and coordination across multiple projects

Required profile

• US citizen with Secret clearance to start
• 7+ years of related experience
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to be hands-on with builds and integration
• Familiarity with 3D printing and additive manufacturing
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Background or interest in UAVs/UAS; project management experience is a plus

Required skills

• SolidWorks and Windchill (EPDM)
• CFD or other aerodynamic flow analysis
• Desired: Mission Planner, RC pilot experience, RC aircraft build skills, Betaflight, EdgeTX, DJI FPV, INAV, ExpressLRS, hobbyist 3D printing/CNC/laser cutting, small engine tuning
