Advanced Practice RN – Ophthalmology & Cornea (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (ARNP) provides comprehensive ophthalmic care to patients with corneal and other eye conditions. Working independently and in collaboration with physicians, the ARNP delivers diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete physical examinations and detailed health histories for patients of all ages.
• Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic and therapeutic tests relevant to ophthalmology and cornea care.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatment plans, including medication management.
• Implement interventions to maintain or restore physiologic stability and monitor their effectiveness.
• Facilitate patient transitions across care settings, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, making appropriate referrals and providing education to patients, families, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations and uphold university policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing with an approved ARNP curriculum.
• Florida licensure as an ARNP and board certification from a nationally accredited organization (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in ophthalmology or related specialty.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
