Advanced Practice Provider – Pediatric Pulmonary

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital seeks a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (FNP, PNP or PA) to join the Pediatric Pulmonary team. This full‑time, day‑shift position provides both inpatient and outpatient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality pediatric pulmonary services.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret labs, imaging and other diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state and Cleveland Clinic policies, and participate in medical team rounds.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatments, and medication side effects.
• Facilitate discharge planning, ensure continuity of care, and support quality‑monitoring initiatives.
• May serve as a preceptor for students, assist with research data collection, and contribute to evidence‑based practice translation.

Required profile

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the applicable state(s) and RN license.
• MSN degree required upon hire or within three years; graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills; ability to work independently and in a stressful environment.
• Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and hospital governing bodies.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (if required by work setting).
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
