Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft group is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer who will research, develop, test and implement advanced manufacturing technologies to improve current production and create new processes or products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop, test and implement appropriate advanced manufacturing technologies across diverse products and processes.
• Communicate and manage technical requirements with internal and external collaborators and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturing research organizations such as universities and suppliers.
• Plan, develop and report on advanced manufacturing projects from early stages to production implementation, using TRL and MRL frameworks.
• Support continued manufacturing improvement activities that increase throughput, product quality or reduce process variation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software/Computer, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial robotics, automation or control systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) concepts.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within deadlines.

Required skills

• Industrial robotics and automation.
• Control systems and electromechanical systems.
• CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
• Ignition, Fanuc and Rockwell Automation platforms.
• Computer programming and software development for manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of lasers, optics and metrology systems.
• General understanding of AI applications in engineering and manufacturing.
