Adult Respiratory Therapist – Full-Time – Days or Nights

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking an Adult Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to patients of all ages. The position can be scheduled for days or nights on the Jeff Hwy location and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, including ventilation management and oxygen therapy, in accordance with established policies.
• Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and electrocardiograms.
• Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Document all clinical information and assist with airway management.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist and National Board certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• No prior work experience required.

Required skills

• Ventilator operation and management.
• Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis.
• Oxygen therapy administration.
• Proficiency with Windows‑based computer applications for data entry and retrieval.
