Adult Protective Services Case Manager (Level 2)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services (APS) Case Manager 2 to provide personal support services and crisis intervention for vulnerable adults. This position primarily serves DeKalb County and may involve telework options.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial investigations of protective service reports that meet APS criteria.
• Assess risk levels and take appropriate actions to ensure client safety.
• Provide follow‑up consultations, resources, and stabilization services to prevent further abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit reports promptly.
• Stay current on policies, laws, and field developments through training and meetings.

Required profile

• Works under general supervision to deliver personal support and crisis intervention.
• Ability to evaluate, investigate, and resolve client complaints.
• Strong liaison skills between clients and service providers.
