Admissions Specialist – University Operations

About the role

The Office of Admissions at Southeastern Louisiana University is seeking an Admissions Specialist to support the Associate Director of Operations. This full‑time position plays a key role in evaluating admission eligibility for undergraduate and graduate students and streamlining application processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Associate Director of Operations with daily admissions activities.
• Determine eligibility for prospective undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop, plan, and implement processes for various application types and student groups.
• Collaborate with university affiliates to ensure smooth enrollment management.
• Provide occasional night and weekend coverage as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university by the hire date.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work both independently and cooperatively.
• Problem‑solving and analytical skills for independent decision‑making.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and university values.
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license and completion of the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Workday.
• Experience using Slate.
• Familiarity with Peoplesoft.
• Knowledge of Oracle database management systems.
