Admissions Counselor

About the role

The Admissions Counselor supports Phillips Community College's enrollment process by guiding prospective and newly admitted students from application through registration. This role ensures accurate processing of applications, communication with applicants, and smooth transition to advising and registration services.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process admission applications in line with college policies.
• Verify transcripts, test scores, immunization records, residency information, and other documentation for completeness and authenticity.
• Maintain accurate applicant data in the student information system and monitor incomplete files.
• Communicate regularly with applicants about status, missing documents, and next steps.
• Assist with recruitment activities, high‑school visits, college fairs, campus tours, and community events.
• Support the transition of admitted students to advising, placement testing, financial aid, and registration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited institution.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and customer‑service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential student information in compliance with FERPA.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel for recruitment events.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard computer applications and ability to learn student information systems.
