Adjunct Sociology Instructor (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Department of Social Sciences at Texas A&M University‑Central Texas seeks a part‑time Adjunct Faculty member to teach an upper‑level sociology course. Assignments are semester‑by‑semester and may include fall, spring, and summer terms, with options for online, face‑to‑face, or hybrid delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a syllabus for an upper‑level sociology class using the College of Arts & Sciences format.
• Teach course content covering topics such as social inequalities, health and illness, media, political sociology, or the military.
• Provide timely feedback on assignments, grade student work, and respond to student inquiries via email.
• Offer additional support through office hours or virtual meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Sociology (Ph.D. preferred).
• Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate sociology courses.
• Commitment to undergraduate education and innovative teaching methods.
• Authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver course material for both online and face‑to‑face environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for student interaction.
