Adjunct Phlebotomy Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Central Georgia Technical College, seeks an Adjunct Phlebotomy Instructor to teach didactic and clinical courses. The position involves classroom, lab, and possibly online instruction, with travel within the service area as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare syllabi, lesson plans, and develop program goals and objectives.
• Deliver lectures and labs for Phlebotomy 1030 and 1050 courses according to scheduled times.
• Assess student performance, maintain grade books, and provide feedback.
• Maintain accurate records, inventory of assigned properties, and complete required reports and invoices.
• Participate in professional development, mentor other adjunct faculty, and comply with TCSG policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (e.g., AMT, ASPT, NCCT) or as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
• At least 2 years experience as a certified phlebotomy or laboratory technician.
• Submission of resume, completed application, and transcripts as specified.

Required skills

• Phlebotomy certification (AMT, ASPT, NCCT or equivalent).
• Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist certification (ASCP, AMT or equivalent).

What we offer

• Set fee per course based on $26 gross hourly for didactic and $27 for clinical contact hours.
• Potential additional stipends for student contact hours, orientation, training, and course development.
