Adjunct Instructor - Legal Studies

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Athens Technical College, seeks an Adjunct Instructor to deliver legal studies courses to undergraduate students. This part‑time position involves both on‑campus and online teaching, allowing you to share your expertise in a dynamic academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach a range of law courses such as Introduction to Law, Legal Research and Writing, Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Tort Law, Contracts, Business Organizations, Wills, Trusts, Probate, Law Office Management, Bankruptcy, Immigration, Intellectual Property, and Administrative Law.
• Develop and adapt course materials to align with program outcomes and TCSG curricular standards.
• Deliver instruction via Blackboard and other online platforms, ensuring compliance with competency frameworks.
• Grade assessments, maintain accurate student records, and submit grades and reports within required timelines.
• Evaluate student progress, provide performance feedback, and participate in textbook and learning‑material reviews.
• Attend departmental meetings, workshops, and required trainings.
• Uphold safety and security standards in all instructional settings.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA‑accredited law school and bar admission in at least one state, or a Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of three years’ paralegal experience.
• Demonstrated experience as a paralegal or supervising paralegals.
• Eligibility to meet accrediting‑body credentials for assigned courses.
• Availability to teach both on‑campus and online formats.
• Proficiency in the substantive area of law being taught.

• Proficiency with the Blackboard learning platform for hybrid instruction.
