Adjunct Instructor – History (Part‑time)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach History courses on‑campus and/or online. This part‑time position supports the university’s mission to provide high‑quality education to its diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate History lectures and seminars in classroom or virtual settings.
• Develop lesson plans, syllabi, course outlines, and assessment tools.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain classroom supplies, equipment, and budget requests.
• Prepare required documentation, reports, and administrative records.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, recruitment, retention, and job placement activities.
• Serve on committees or project teams as assigned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in History from a regionally accredited institution, or equivalent graduate coursework (minimum 18 semester or 30 quarter hours).
• Prior teaching or training experience at the post‑secondary level is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to operate standard computer software and hardware for instructional purposes.
