Adjunct Faculty – Physics Instructor (Part‑time)

About the role

The Department of Computational, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences seeks a part‑time, non‑tenure‑track Adjunct Faculty member to teach introductory and university‑level physics courses. This position is focused on delivering face‑to‑face lectures and laboratory sessions during daytime hours.

Key responsibilities

• Teach algebra‑based introductory physics and calculus‑based university physics lecture courses.
• Conduct and supervise laboratory sessions, ensuring a safe learning environment.
• Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and lab manuals.
• Assess student performance through exams, quizzes, and lab reports.
• Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with faculty on curriculum matters.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in a related area.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and cooperate with colleagues.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in teaching both algebra‑based and calculus‑based physics concepts.
• Experience managing physics laboratory safety and equipment.
• Capability to design effective instructional materials and assessments.
