Adjunct Faculty – Paralegal Instructor

About the role

East Texas A&M University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Paralegal courses on a course‑by‑course basis at its Dallas campus. The position involves delivering live lectures, developing course materials, and mentoring students pursuing a career in legal support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver live lectures and facilitate in‑class discussions for paralegal students.
• Develop and manage the course syllabus, ensuring alignment with departmental standards.
• Create lecture content, assignments, and examinations.
• Assess student performance through participation, assignments, and exams.
• Provide mentorship and academic support to students as needed.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate degree.
• Minimum three years of practicing law with experience supervising paralegals or legal assistants.
• Active license to practice law in a U.S. state.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively.

Required skills

• Current knowledge of paralegal and legal assistant practices.
• Proficiency in developing academic curricula and assessments.
