Adjunct Faculty – Literature & Languages

About the role

Marymount University is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach first‑year composition, literature, and language courses within the Department of Literature & Languages. This part‑time position offers the chance to engage with a diverse student body and contribute to an innovative academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses and develop course materials.
• Prepare, administer, and grade midterm and final examinations.
• Maintain office hours (approximately one hour per class per week) and provide academic advising.
• Participate in departmental meetings and collaborative initiatives.

Required profile

• Completed M.A. or Ph.D. in English or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated active engagement in pedagogical development and scholarly activity.
• Commitment to mentoring and supporting students of color, international students, transfer students, and first‑generation students.
