Adjunct Faculty – Biotechnology (Graduate Courses)

About the role

The Biotechnology Program in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Northeastern University seeks motivated adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses on the Oakland campus. The position involves delivering both laboratory‑focused and professional‑science master’s courses that cover biopharmaceutical development, regulatory approval, and commercialization.

Key responsibilities

• Review and learn key teaching points from existing instructor guides.
• Prepare and deliver high‑quality in‑person or online lectures and labs.
• Facilitate respectful debates and discussions.
• Provide timely grading, coaching, and feedback on assignments.
• Maintain regular contact with students to monitor performance.
• Hold office/consultation hours as appropriate.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in biotechnology or a closely related field, or an equivalent graduate degree (DBA, MBA) with relevant expertise.
• At least five years of professional experience in biotechnology, biopharma, or related industry.
• Proven platform skills and an open, supportive personal style willing to receive coaching.
