Adjudicator 1 – Disability Claims

About the role

The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency is seeking multiple Adjudicator 1 professionals to evaluate disability claims and appeals for Social Security programs. This full‑time, onsite position supports individuals with medical and vocational challenges by making fair benefit determinations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical, vocational, and other evidence to decide whether to approve or deny disability benefits.
• Prepare detailed written analyses, decisions, and notices for claimants and the Social Security Administration.
• Maintain a caseload of initial Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income claims, ensuring timely resolution.
• Protect confidential personal and medical information in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Determine need for additional medical evaluations or consultative examinations and coordinate funding for such evidence.

Required profile

• Accountability, critical thinking, judgment, focus on quality, initiative, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional experience in disability, medical or insurance claims adjudication, health care, unemployment, workers’ compensation, social services, or a related field.
• Preference for bilingual candidates, especially those fluent in Spanish.

Required skills

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).
