Addictions Counselor – Residential Treatment

About the role

The Addictions Counselor provides therapeutic services across three residential treatment locations, delivering group and individual sessions to support clients in recovery. The role follows a structured schedule, ensures accurate documentation, and collaborates with supervisors and program directors to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate low‑intensity residential treatment group sessions for up to 32 clients across three locations daily.
• Conduct telehealth and in‑person individual sessions, documenting all encounters in ICANotes using appropriate coding.
• Check‑in and check‑out with the Operations Manager and participate in weekly supervisory meetings.
• Travel between residential treatment sites and coordinate schedules to ensure timely service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in addiction counseling.
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid Maryland licensure (e.g., LCADC, LCPC, LCSW‑C, etc.).

Required skills

• Proficiency with ICANotes electronic health record system.
• Knowledge of psychotherapeutic principles and evidence‑based addiction treatment.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
