About the role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks a compassionate Addiction Counselor to provide dignified, person‑centered care to clients across Nassau and Suffolk counties. The role involves conducting assessments, counseling, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate level of care.
- Refer clients to alternative levels of care when clinically indicated.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
- Complete clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and reports.
- Document all activities in an electronic medical records system.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver person‑centered care.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- CASAC‑T certification (CASAC eligible).
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Valid NYS driver’s license for occasional client transport.
Required skills
- Proficiency with PC and electronic medical records systems.
