ACT-Qualified Mental Health Professional

About the role

The Child and Family Guidance Center seeks an ACT-Qualified Mental Health Professional to deliver family‑oriented, individual and group rehabilitative services, skills training, medication education, parenting training, and intensive case management across North Texas clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide curriculum‑based rehabilitative services individually and in groups, developing plans based on client needs, medical necessity, and clinical judgment.
• Deliver services in community, home, school, and office settings, including transportation to appointments as needed.
• Document all clinical notes as legal documents and ensure compliance with state standards.
• Promote community awareness of agency services and serve on task forces or consult with partner agencies when requested.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in rehab counseling, psychology, social work, or related field as required by Texas Administrative Code.
• Preferred one year of community‑setting experience with curriculum‑based rehabilitative techniques for severe mental illness.
• Understanding of adult and child mental health disorders, confidentiality, and ethical practice guidelines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of clinical disorders and life‑adjustment problems.
• Familiarity with treatment documentation, confidentiality standards, and ethical guidelines.
• Awareness of community service agencies and resources.
• Knowledge of medications used in mental health treatment.
